Guts, Glitz and Lipstick Challenge - February 2025 - Mixed Media Altered Cutting Board

Hi and welcome to my blog!

There is a fun challenge at Gecko Galz Challenge Blog running from February 1-26th and the theme is Guts, Glitz and Lipstick.

I made a mixed media altered cutting board.

Used gesso, acrylic paints, Amaco Rub 'N Buff Wax Metallic Finish, Distress Inks, Archival Inks, Deli paper, Decorative paper, Tim Holtz Stencil, Embossing paste, Heat Embossing Powder, Metalic stars - embellishment and Jute for the hanger.

The images used are from Glam On The Range Digital Collage set and Gitty Up Digital Paper Pack.

Mermaid Mixed Media Tag

Hey there, fellow artists and creators!

I’m thrilled to invite you to dive into a month of artistic exploration with us here at Gecko Galz! 

This July, we have some amazing challenges in our Facebook Group:

I was so inspired by this months themes that I created a mairmaid tail mixed media tag using Tiki Time Digital Junk Journal Kit and Oceans Blue Digital Collage Set.

Drew the mermaid tail and collaged the images over the silhouete, tken added details with rsilver wax paste and a stencil, archival ink and distress ink; added some jewels for sparkles.

Supplies used; Versamark Ink, Embossing Powder, Dylusions Ink Spray ( London Blue, Bubblegum Pink, Calypso Teal, Pure Sunshine), Adirondack Color Wash ( Sunset Orange, Denim), Distress Ink pad ( Black Soot, Mustard Seed), gold pen, sequins, pearls, silver embellishment, black gems.
Be sure to comment on each GIU post. I will be choosing two winners randomly from all comments.  They will receive 25 random stamps from Unity Stamp Co. Here is my project, a mixed media art journal page using Hot Air Balloon

Mediums used:  Dylussion Ink Spars, Distress Inks, Amaco Rub On Wax, White Golden Acrylic Paint, White gel pen, 

I re-used a piece of cardboard for the stars.

The image comes with clean lines and I doodled all the details.
