Arabella

Hi everyone!

I just joined a fabulous group of designers, Rick St. Dennis Elite Design Team for both his blogs:

Sparkle and Glitter

and

Airless Chambers

I feel so honored to work with this amazing and creative group of artist and of course the owner and designer Mr. Rick St. Dennis.

Rick sent a beautiful image for me to color and use in a project for my formal introduction as part of the EDT ( Elite Design Team), it is called Arabella and you can find her for a limited time HERE:

Isn't she beautiful? Can you imagine all the possibilities of this image: cards, art journals, Canvas, altered items; so many options and so little time...

This is the project I created:

Image was colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Pens and Prisma Coloring Pencils. also used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add that aged feeling to the cardstock.

Used a border punch by Martha Stewart.

There is a wonderful Tutorial by Susi for coloring folds, at Sparkle and Glitter.

New Challenge at My Time To Craft!

It's time for a wonderful new challenge at My Time To Craft:

Song or Film Inspired!

I love the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's and of course had to use this as my inspiration for this challenge.

Here is my piece:

It is an up-cycled box turned into my canvas. Used Gesso, acrylic paints, watercolors and distress inks for the backgrounds colors and textures. The image is from the internet and it was colored with a touch of red acrylic paint for the lips.
Added a sheer ribbon and bow, rhinestones and two vintage stickpins.

Challenge # 3 at Delicious Doodles!!!

It is time for a new challenge at Delicious Doodles and the theme is

Use Metal

Anything metal will do, charms, chains, embossing metal, metallic card, whatever!

Here is my inspiration:

Image: Steampunk Fairy

I had so much fun coloring this beautiful image, used my new Spectrum Noir and Prisma Coloring Pencils.
The background was created with Distress Stains ( Bundled Sage, Dried Marigold, Mustard Seed and Vintage Photo), Distress Ink (Black Soot) and then heat embossed twice with Distress Embossing Ink and clear embossing powder.
My metal embellishment is a die cut using an aluminum metal sheet, I distressed it before to add some texture to the metal, die cut the border then aged it with black acrylic paint.

Mermaids!

I have so much fun creating ATC's.
This one I created for the August Swap over at The Crafter's Cafe. The theme is Mermaids.
I also used four of them as inspiration for Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge over at Lady Anne's Paper Craft.

This was a set of fifteen ATC's and they are all different.

The image is from Retro Cafe Art. First I fussy cut the mermaids then added some glitter.
For the background I used Portfolio Water Soluble Oil Pastels and Faber Castell Metallic Gel Sticks.
Distress the borders with Distress Ink (Broken China).
Stamped the border with Recollections stamps and Archival Ink (Jet Black).
Created the corals with Tim Holtz Alterations (On the Edge - Twigs).

My Favorite Technique is Distressing and I did this on the sentiment and on the borders of the ATC's.

Simplify!!!

I love challenges

I have to admit that they have that driving force that keeps me thinking, hum, how can I do this, or, will it work if I do it this way???

This card was a real challenge.. I had to make a card with one layer and one embellishment.

That is the first challenge over at a new forum, Lady Anne’s Paper Crafts.

Was it hard, let me think... yeeeeeeeeeeeees, I love layers and adding embellies. Then I had an idea and of course I thought it was brilliant, only to find out that it did not work, back to thinking and then it came to me: Keep it simple!

I hope you like it:

For this project I used the following {ippity} stamp sets: Bloom and Simplify and Now and Always. Colored the flower with Distress Markers and used Distress Ink around the card, feel it adds some depth.

For the final touch I added by the bow.

Tea Time...

Hi everyone!
I had some free time and created an ATC for the current challenge at A Day For Daisies:

This is my entry:

Don't you love the image. The image is from the collection Vintage Story Telling.
Used Distress ink around the border, adds the aged feel. Love the pom-pom border and the tea drops (jewels) pouring from the teapot. That cute flower adds the perfect finishing touch.

Embellies With A Twist: Distressing!

Hi everybody and welcome to Monday Challenge at The Crafter's Cafe!

We have created this special daily challenge to encourage you to reach outside your "box" and try something new!

Our Monday challenge is

Embellies With A Twist

We all love using embellishments on our creations, but for this challenge we will add a little twist, a little something to make it interesting.

The twist this week:

Distressing!

Use your favorite technique to distress your creation, remember, we would LOVE to see all types of creations (ex. cards, scrap layouts, fat book pages, artist trading cards, tags, boxes, bags, 3D ~ Altered Art or any other crafting projects that have some form of paper on them).

Mixed Media Card

I have been experimenting with mixed media art and have to admit, it is so much fun.
Here is a card created with this art form:

Details

Created the background with Tim Holtz Distress Inks by Ranger. The stencil used to create the border is from Crafter's Workshop Shop. Image and sentiment are Tm Holtz's.
The photo turns are from 7 gypsies and I used a simple nail file to distress them.
Added a strip of a book page crumpled and distressed, then I sprayed some Perfect Pearls. The buttons are from my personal collection.
