CAS Card

Hi

I made a CAS card, clean and simple is very hard for me bacause I like to add lots of layers and embelishments. After much thought I went with one layer, challenging and fun.

Used stamps that I received in a swap and distress inks.

I would like to enter this creation in the following Challenges:

Thanks for the visit.

New challenge at Stampin' Dymonz

There is a wonderful new challenge at Stampin' Dymonz Creative Space. The rules are:
Your challenge this week is to create a card using the Drop Shadow Stamping technique and at least one other stamping technique of your choice. Your card must have ribbon, 3 flowers, "gems" (of any type -- I used Pebbles in the flower centers) and at least 2 distinctly different papers/cardstocks. The theme for the card is "Sympathy" (i.e., my "thinking of you" stamp).
I decided to use the Drop Shadow Stamping Technique to create my background over white cardstock and inked the edges of some of the embellishments.
Here is the card:

Card Recipe:
DCWV cardstoock and PP

Tim Times Ten Grand Give-A-Way Challenge: Day Ten -- The End

Tim Times Ten Grand Give-A-Way Challenge: Day Ten -- The End
Our last challenge, then, is to make a Brag Book of the nine tags that you have created over the last nine days. It can be bound by rings as I have done or by using a Cinch or BIA or other wire binding device. The tags must be in the Brag Book in the order in which they were created over the nine days. There must be a way in which you display/provide the recipe for each tag. You must have at least one cut from a die-cutting device -- Cricut, Cuttlebug, MS Punch, etc. -- whichever one you use doesn't matter. You must create a cover which utilizes a sentiment and an image stamp and the acrylic paint resist technique.

Sure it seem easy, but wait, all my tags are different sizes…

Then I began thinking it’s my brag book, so I can do it, however I want.
Problem solved!!!

For the acrylic resist technique I wanted a kind of fading vintage look, so I had to be careful with the colors used for distressing. Took me a little, since I had to work the colors very gently, but the result is really pretty.

The sentiment is a stamp given to me by another dear friend. Used the Cricut and Tie the Knot cartridge for the die cut where the sentiment was stamped.

The image stamp is from Stamping Up, simple and sweet.

In order to put my book together, I used again the Cricut and the Sentimentals cartridge. The envelopes I chose have a swirly flap and I inked them with metallic ink.

Here is the tenth tag and also my cover for the brag book:

The brag book is a fun way to display the tags:

I can’t believe this is the last one!  I would like to thank each and everyone that visited my blog and read about this adventure.

New projects...

Time flies, or so they say. Each day I plan to do a million things and by the end of the day I realize that most of them are still pending.

This past week I was able to make some cards and posted them on Simply Scrapping Crafts (SSC) Site as part of the challenges.

March 2, 2011 Card Challenge: Stamp a background, but make it (at least partly) your cards focal point

March 4, 2011 CAS Challenge: make a 3-D effect as the focus of your card.

I also worked on a very special project: an accordion card.  Each detail made me fall in love with it.  The dig stamp is beautiful, and the flowers were handmade.
The base of the card was made with the Design Studio and my Cricut.
The flowers were made using the Cricut to cut out the shape.  Here is a link for the tutorial.

Some embossing was done on the cover of the card, as a background accent.
Each page has a special detail, they are interactive and fun.

Hope you enjoy this card as much as I do.

Thanks for visiting.

Love,

Julia
