Alice in Wonderland

 Gecko Galz has this wonderful Monthly Challenge January Through the Looking Glass.

I am in love with this project inspired by the book Alice In Wonderland. 

Used an image from my new collage image set Wonderful Wonderland from Gecko Galz.

There are lots of layers but the Cricut helped a lot.

Color Challenge at Get Hppity With Ippity!

Hi everyone!
Welcome to our first color challenge of the year at Get Hippity with Ippity!!!
First we want to thank Jessica of Design Seeds blog for allowing us to use her wonderful color palettes as our inspiration for these challenges. 
Remember your creation can be any type of project you like ATC, card, scrapbook layout, whatever pleases you but you must use the color palette!! Also don't forget you must be a follower of our blog to be a winner. There's also a little bonus if you use an Ippity or Unity image - you get entered in the drawing twice!! We really appreciate one extra step if use Ippity or Unity which is to have you leave a comment of which set you used!! Today I will share a project made as inspiration:

The color inspiration for this challenge is called macaw hues:

For this project I used the Happy are Those:

The background paper was created with water soluble oil pastels.
For the label I used the Cricut die cutting machine and Cricut Essentials cartridge.
This challenge will run until Saturday February 18, 2012 at 7PM CST.

New Design Team and a Challenge!

Hi everyone!
I have a big announcement: I am part of the Design Team for My Time To Craft Challenge Blog!
Yippee!! I'm so excited, it's my first project and posting as a DT member.

I made a card using an image from Phindy's Place called Birdie, also used my Cricut and Sentimentals cartridge for the die cut frame and Elegant cake for the flourishes.

The designer paper is from Authentique Paper and added some sewing around and distressing the borders a little for added texture.

The final touch a ribbon and flower with button center and twine bow.

New Design Team and First Challenge!!!

Hi everyone!

I have some wonderful news, I've been invited to join Crafting By Designs as a DT and of course said: Yes!

Crafting By Designs is a a fun place to share your creativity, chat with your friends, join a challenge or two and try new techniques.

The theme of the challenge I am hosting during this month is:

Valentines

Create a valentine for that special someone, mom, dad, daughter, son, sister, brother, etc.

for my first one I created metal accents by embossing a piece of tooling aluminum (Maid-ó-Metal) and then covered two chipboard heart die cuts (Sizzix, Tipsy Hearts). Used some pattina paint (Metallic Art - Gem Crafts) to age the hearts and some bling. Distressed the border of the DP with Ranger Distress Ink (Fired Brick).

I'm entering this card in the following challenges: CFC34 - Create a Clean And Simple project using chipboard at Cas-ual Fridays and Bling it up at Some Odd Girls.

My second valentine is a simple card. Used my Cricut and Plantin SchoolBook cartridge to cut the circles and heart shapes. Added some glitter to the heart for bling and made a tag using the ippity stamp set: Your Friendship, My Cup of Tea.

A Sweet Happy Birthday!

Who doesn’t like a sweet cupcake?
I sure do; and if it has no calories, better yet. This birthday card is a perfect example of that.
Cricut has this wonderful cartridge called Sweet Treats, which is one of my favorites. The frosting was done using Stampendous Jewel Glitter (very shiny). The sweet toppings are a candy red heart, also covered in glitter and some sweet sprinkles (glitter brads from We R Memory Keepers).
The shaped base for the card was made with Cricut Sentimental Cartridge.

This is a very simple card. The sketch is from Operation Write Home. Used the Cricut for all my die cut pieces.  Inked the edges for some dimension and made a 3-D heart (3 heart shapes folded at the center, then glued together and added some stitching in the center). The butterfly was made with Sentimentas cartridge, one of my favorites.

Smile!!!

A new card! I have to admit that I have a Cricut and I do not know how many cartridges, but I don’t use it as much as I should.

Thanks to some great blogs I have rediscovered my love for this machine.
One of those cartridges I have barely used is Preserves, but I am made my second card with it and have to admit that it is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Summer Fun!

It is so hot!!!

My neighbor’s kids are playing in the backyard in a small inflatable pool and they are having so much fun, you can hear them laughing all the time.
That inspired me for this card.
The image is from Bugaboo Digi Stamps. The background paper is from Martha Stewart and I fell it complements the image perfectly. I used my Cricut machine to cut the background circles and the image, and the rectangles for the sentiment (Plantin SchoolBook cartridge).

Flower Card!

This die cut card was made using my Cricut and the Mothers Day Bouquet Cartridge.
Did some inking to the flowers cut out to add dimension. The sentiment is from Stampin up.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for...

ICE CREAM!
We all remember singing this and it was so much fun, well actually it is still fun!

 

I found this gorgeous ice cream cone in the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge and couldn’t resist but make a card.
Of course I love strawberry ice cream with chocolate syrup, so the color of choice was pink and obviously brown.
Inked all edges to add some dimension and then what else but sprinkles, very bright and shiny.

You're "Grape"!

I've had the Preserves cartridge (Cricut machine) for some time and have not used it a lot.  Today I was frutty inspired and made this card, used distress ink for some dimension and embossing to add texture.

Altered Art!!!

The challenge was  to alter a home decor item!!!
I had a very inexpensive picture portrait and decided to convert it into a tray for my jewelry.

 Some details:

Added some Patterened Paper

Used Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge for Cricut to cut the flowers.

The flower ready for distressing with ink.

Inking the edges.

Curled the petals for some dimension

Glued the flowers

Added a little black bow
